Provided eBay hold onto the PID system, BANS will not need an update.
And if it's run directly by eBay, then payouts will be more because CJ is not taking it's cut out of it, which is good news (Y)
I think it's only eBay.com that's moving out for now, that's the only email I've had, eBay UK seems to be sitting tight :)

    That's true. I didn't think of that :p
Well, you can be fairly sure they won't go down, and reporting should speed up a bit (Y)

Hey, it would be really handy if payouts were possible via PayPal - you would think they would be! It would save some hassle...

If yahoo, and even ValueClickMedia could come to an agreement with paypal to have no fees charged when they sendout payments to publishers I don't see why eBay wouldn't be able to secure the same kind of agreement with a company they own.

just come across the following statement from ebay rep. so I presume they will still maintain the direct deposit.

    Hi Mrguyhp,

Yes, we will continue to offer direct deposit, so no worries. Paypal is just another additional option we're offering our affiliates for some of the programs. I'll be publishing a more comprehensive list of programs that accept paypal.

    Thanks!

I hope they offer international direct deposit - I hate getting paid via PayPal, I always just end up spending it on toys instead of bills.

Exactly. I consider whatever is my PayPal account to be 'free money'... I think I've only transfered the funds into my bank account once. The rest of it gets spent on Star Wars crap and DVDs :p

I'm sure eBay would like to keep us on the "eBay earning > PayPal > eBay spending" roundabout.

That is very true, and probably the single reason why PayPal will be well supported. Me, I've still yet to figure out how to transfer money FROM PayPal to my bank account, ha ha! They don't make it nearly as obvious as transferring IN!

They would have to make the PayPal option fee-less, I'm not going to spend 3-4% of my revenue on PayPal fees.

Just as I was thinking to give a try to BANs, ebay is moving out. Thank you very much. I am reluctant to sign up under ebay solely. I used to sell on ebay and I tell you they will sqeeze out every possible dollar from you with their rediculous fees. I think the move will impose new fees on affiliates whether it's through PayPal or their own fees. Just watch.

Anyone know if ebay will extend the cookie duration from 7 days to 30 after the move? I think they should.

Doubt it, the affiliate cost would go through the roof. It would be nice if they bumped it to 14 days but 30 may be pushing it.

Markowe - I'm interested in your template. I'm using WordPress with a feed plugin at the moment. Would your system be easier? PM me please.

This is terrible news for anyone that has a bunch of ebay affiliate sites floating around. I know a few guys and they are in a very bad mood
