I have applied a few times to ebay's publisher network but have been rejected every time with no reason except pretty much that they felt like it. Anyone experiencing the same thing? I would do amazon (I do have an account), but not sure if the affiliate commission would be more than ebay.
There is an alternative to ebay that pays good and at this moment is an under tapped market and its called OverStocked.Com . There is already a plugin out for it if you use wordpress . It's called phpOStock. See my sig for more info. The best part is that you can try it for free.
Is there a customer service phone number. Calling almost ALWAYS helps you get into affiliate networks.
The problem with ebay is that I see all these website flippers having affiliate accounts but people who can do some serious profit with them (FOR EBAY) are always rejected. It seems to me that their approvers are doing a disservice.
Ebay rejects sites that have content that they don't want to be associated with, or sites that have admin info hidden or in a different name as the applicant. I have seen many people complain of the same thing, only to find out they are promoting illegal music downloads, have install scripts, cookie stuffing, auto blogged, or are trying to get an account for a site that they do not own. Make sure your ducks are in a row and try again. If your name is "Joe Blow" but your domain is registered to a "Michael Johnson" I would reject you too, until I found out why this is. Also, if you are in bad standing with another Ebay company, such as Pay Pal, you can hang it up as well. Since there is no interview process, Affiliate companies are getting smarter because they get scammed all the time by people trying to beat the system. Ebay approved me last year in about 10 minutes, so it must be something that is inconsistent with your application. All they want to know is what kind of site will there stuff be on, and who you are...(and of course that your contact, and tax information be real) it should be easy as pie.
Neither of those are the case, I am in good standing. All I can think of is that I am applying with my registered corporation name.
Ebay was one of the easiest programs to get started with for me. Just send and email and appeal the decision. Most people who are trying to pull something just give up and move on to another program, they will probably tell you what drew a red flag.
Sorry, but that is the the most speculative and inaccurate explanation that I have ever heard. I have seen ZERO evidence that ePN accounts are being approved or denied based on the standing of a PayPal account and I tell you from first-hand experience that you can indeed get an account approved with hidden contact info and get approved if the reg info is in a different name than the applicant. Please do not spew inaccuracies and confuse people.
It's just common business sense. If you were fraudulent on a sister company, why would you expect to be approved ? I am only offering possible explanations, (yes speculative) since you don't have any of your own, based on friends that have been denied and what their situation was at the time. The overall point is to get all your ducks in a row, since you are having a problem, then there obviously is something that you haven't though of. Since my account was approved pretty quick and is in good standing, just offering some tips of what my situation was to be approved so quick. IOW's, match what I did, and maybe you will get the results you desire. Also, I didn't even know about Ebay and PJ...I jut went straight to EPN, why use a 3rd party when you don't have to ?
I agree with some of the posts on here. That unless you're generating traffic such as 50,000 uniques daily I wouldn't even bother promoting products for Ebay. Like someone else said you can easily find better affiliate programs in which have better rates. Good luck.
