i got to the limit today,on ebay that i can sell 110 items or 5000$, and i called to get my limit up,and now they saying if i want to do that i need to prove with receipts where i am geting my stuff, and i buy all my stuff with cash ,so there is no way ,from where to get receipts to show them, so they closed all my actions till i show that proof, so if you thinking about doing the samething ,think about ,because they will clouse everything till you show proof that whatever you are doing is legal, and they asking for all this info: >>>> As a follow up to our phone conversation, I would like to remind you that selling limits have been placed on your account. To maintain a safe marketplace, we sometimes request additional identification or take further action on a seller’s account. These limits are not necessarily meant to be a reflection of your account’s activity, but rather a preventative measure. We’d be happy to review your account further and, if possible, adjust your selling limits to allow additional activity to take place. In order for us to review your account, I need to ask you to submit all of the following information by fax (fax number below): - A cover letter with your user ID, First & Last name, and a valid phone number to reach you. (This information should be printed clearly or typed.) - A readable copy of the driver’s license, front *and* back, or other government-issued ID. - A copy of a recent credit card statement. Your billing address should be visible, along with the first and last four digits of your credit card number. - Documentation that shows you purchased the item(s) currently listed for sale on eBay. If you have many items for sale, we just ask that you send two or three invoices. (Note: Pictures of the items are NOT accepted) - If your ID and credit card statement do not show the address registered to your eBay account you will need to provide specific documentation, such as a utility bill or receipt (if address is for a mail forwarding service) that does. **Important ** -Make sure that your name and User ID appears on each document that you submit. (Please print this information clearly so we are able to locate your account quickly). -After you send this information to us, please reply to this message with a brief note letting us know that the information has been sent. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> so you need to think about before you call ebay to increase your limit. whatever i do is legal, but i pay cash,so no receipt to prove. thanks
I can understand your situation but I think eBay also needs to take the correct steps to avoid any problems.
What type of products are you selling? I don't see why they are asking for receipts for your products you are buying? If I sell my laptops here at my house and I have around 10 of them with NO receipts then I would not be able to sell them since I have no receipts? This is not adding up to me.
They have no right to know where you are buying, its a trade secret... trade secrets are a way to protect your self from anyone trying to find out how your business works or where you are buying and how much things cost you, imagine an ebay employee, wanting to compete with you , they have all the tools to do so, because you have given them all the information they need. it happenned to me. i called them and told them they should mind their own business, and they let me alone, reinstated my account,i talked to finance
This is a pretty big thing right now with eBay to prevent against dropshipping, frankly. It's been a pretty big headache for them - particularly the Roger Langille system. They don't want people buying stuff from Amazon, marketing it as a gift, having a buyer want to 'return' it and then having a huge mess on their hands. They want you to show them an 'Amazon' receipt so they can shut you down - or your dropshipping operation down. In the future, in order to get your selling limits increased a little bit easier you can do the following things: 1, have a Paypal premier account and VERIFY it to a bank account. - This is because eBay wants to make sure that they have a secondary form of payment just in case - this takes about 3-5 business days to complete and is free. (It is now in place instead of the ID verification system they had about a year ago) Also, you need to make a couple of sales, receive positive feedback, and lay low. Meaning - have your account for at least 30 days. When they see your items are pretty benign, your receiving positive feedback, your account is verified, and you're not looking at all suspicious, then your account limits can bee raised quite readily. - Auction Debt Eliminator -
What about setting up a separate business account and having an accountant prepare a statement for you...like a 1099 tax form. I mean, what do they think you do to get stuff, steal it? Most stuff on eBay is coming from cash or previous owners, I think. I guess your volume is a problem for them. Rocky
