I don't see the connection with Napster. Shawn Fanning, the founder of Napster became a millionaire after everything was said and done.

    Hello
If you got the right lawyers and the money to stand the trial, go for it! The media and all the attention generated if you win will certainly make your business and site worth millions, in the other hand if you just can avoid the mess and find an alternative domain name like, auctionsellingtips, or tipstobetterauctions, etc etc go for the peace and make a smarter move.

    Regards
    Maurice

does this mean that if the OP doesnt intend to profit from the site then he can keep it?

If so you should keep it but not put any paid adverts on it seens as though you have already bought the domain now.

But seriously you shouldnt be afraid of them man ! Come on you were indirectly helping them in their business.. So you could have just removed the logo... And continued the site !!!

Uh, yeah. And risk worse than they already are.

While one may think doing that is benefitting the trademark holder somehow,
that's not for you to decide. That's eBay's.

Smart post, coming from someone who has nothing to lose.

you'll be able to keep the name if you don't squat on it and actually do something with it. Also, near your copyright add something like, "...is not owned or directly affiliated with eBay Inc."
your site is to help people sell... eBay doesn't give the best tips so I'd rather go to an outside source to see something like this if I needed it.. Fight eBay until you break them! Don't respond to their message... anythibg you say they'll hold it against you..

Oh suuuuuuuuuuuuuure, fight eBay until the OP breaks them, even though he
has no enforceable claims against them and they do. That's an easy thing to
say, considering it's not your ass on the line.

If you got something like this, you asked online, an online stranger told you to
fight them, you do so and lose, what then? Hmmmmmmmmm?
