ebay/cj saga - this is weird

When I first received the email "eBay Advances Affiliate Offering with eBay Partner Network" I sent it on to the spam department at ebay as I get so many fraudulent emails I don't trust any of them any more.
I have now received the following reply:
"Thank you for your enquiry regarding an email which you are not certain
was sent to you by eBay.

We have checked this email and can confirm that it was not sent by eBay
    or PayPal.

This email likely to be a "spam" email. Spam emails are unwanted emails
that haven't been expressly permitted by the recipient. We strongly
recommend that you don't reply to the email as in many cases this will
    lead to further unwanted emails."

What am I supposed to make of that?

Since the email came from a cj.com email address and NOT eBay.com, then they're technically correct. Still, it's pretty sad that they didn't pick up the affiliate connection.

Is this an actual copy and paste from the email they sent you?
If so, they need a kick in grammar pants :p

Yes, I did do copy and paste from the email. Sad isn't it? I wonder if they'd give me a job?
