Just a heads up to eBay affiliates that they will be rolling out category changes in mid-May per this announcement.

    http://pages.ebay.com/categorychanges/

I wish they would give us a more specific date as that would be helpful to those of us that have RSS feeds built upon specific category searches.

Didn't they do this a few months ago too? I'm getting sick of eBay.

Yep. Suddenly I was out of business with a bunch of stores. Just spent hours shoring things up.

Cool. I just quit my 9-5 job so I can spend all of my time updating links and converting them every time eBay gets a wild hair up its arse and decides to make a change to their site structure. Thank you eBay, for providing such a rewardingly wearisome experience for all those publishers who are sending you new customers.

I really don't think eBay even considers affiliates when they make changes like this. I certainly understand the need to add new categories but it seems like they could do this in a less disruptive fashion.

potentmix: What did you do to shore things up? Change/Update the cat #'s in the db or make your pages search query's?

Since I use BANS for the most part, I was able to use BANS admin to make the changes. I also use phpBay on WP and was able to correct things easily. More than anything it was just a time consuming PITA.
