Ebay Case & PayPal Dispute, Are They Different?

    Hi :)

I bought an item on Ebay around 3 weeks ago (UK Seller, I'm based in the UK too), the listing stated that it would be delivered between the 9th-12th September, after not receiving this item I waited and contacted the seller twice via Ebay but still haven't got a reply. Having been ripped off in the past I decided to not leave it and hope this time. I recently opened a case with Ebay and they stated the seller has until the 1st October to respond.

My question is what will happen if he doesn't respond?

Is opening a case with Ebay the same as opening a PayPal dispute?

    Thanks for any advise.

    Dee

They're different. The ebay case is an attempt to resolve the problem through ebay. It has no bearing on the paypal transaction as far as I know. You need to dispute in paypal which should get the real ball rolling.

    Hi

Well I actually didn't need to open a dispute with PayPal, Ebay ruled in my favour and refunded me the full amount.

    Thanks

Good to hear. They used to be separate. Nice to know it's all tied together now. Much easier.
