Some eBay sites allow the word eBay in the path of a file for example:
    http://mysite.com/shoes-on-ebay.html

    While others do not.

    For example ebay.ca

My questions is, I want to have a file automatically detect where a user is from or else give them the otpion to select where they are from and then dynamically show them the appropriate links/content.

So lets say I have site selling shoes.

    The url is:

    http://coolshoes.com/shoes-on-ebay.php

That file will display links to eBay.com primarly but if they select Canada as country then it will display link to eBay.ca. eBay.ca TOS says that my URL cannot have "ebay" in it. Am i going to get in trouble or are instances like this okay?

You can use the word "ebay" in the URL, in any eBay program including Canada, just not the domain/sub-domain.

    6) Domain Names and URL's.
You shall not use "eBay", "ebaycanada" or any confusingly similar variation thereof in your domain name or URL (including subdomain or URL path).

I viewed that as anywhere in the URL. Am I wrong?

Where are you seeing that exactly? It's not in the Terms and Conditions I'm looking at on CJ for them. Either way, you can use "ebay" in your URL... just not domains/sub-domains. I know that for a fact and just now confirmed (again) with an eBay employee.

I'd avoid using "ebay" in any URL strings, as it may get your URL blocked by anti-phishing services. Every day dozens of phishing scam sites pop up that all include "ebay" or "paypal" in the URL in an effort to trick people into clicking on email links. As a result, most phishing blacklists will block those terms on all domains outside of ebay.com and the country-specific ebay sites.

The anti-phishing blacklists are used by hosting companies, domain registrars and enterprise companies, either to filter out potential phishing sites at the proxy server and mailserver level, or for enforcement purposes.

Canada and I think UK and dunno who else DO NOT ALLOW EBAY IN ANY PART OF THE URL. It is in the TOS.

USA has a clause that says you can't use it in a domain of subdomain, some wording with after the // before the /'s ...

Trust me on this one (really)... All the eBay countries are the same regarding this. You can have "ebay" in the URL, but not domain or subdomain.
