First time I have seen this myself. I knew ebay stores and store products were spidered by Google, but now ebay auctions are are showing in Google SERPs? I was searching for "energizer universal charger nimh nicd" to see what price they were running. I found one in a yard sale for $2.00 and wanted to make sure I got a good deal So when I did a search for the above without quotes, lo and behold, an ebay auction shows up 1st in SERPs for that term. Is this new, with the auctions, I mean? I never noticed this before and even saw a thread earlier here on DP today where someone said no, ebay auctions aren't shown in Google SERPs
as seo ranter stated.. by the time google bot has spidered it the auction is over. pretty pointless if you ask me. I guess SEO would help too if you stated proper wording in your advertisement.
Sometimes those old eBay auctions are the best and most relevant to your searches. I was cleaning out some items from my garage earlier this week so I could list them on eBay, and when I went to Google to lookup the features, eBay auctions for those items kept popping up in the top 3 of the results. They turned out to be the best resources for info on the products and in one case, the only source of info on the product. Although, if you're looking to buy something, then it can be kind of frustrating to see closed auctions at the top of the listings. Gary
well, it looks like this listing had about four days left when i found it. i wonder if this was just a fluke, getting indexed in google so quickly. it was a standard 7 day listing. i used to sell on ebay heavily, before all of the fee hikes, and tried to fit in every keyword i could for ebayers to find my products. ah, those were the days....not
