I want to build a past ebay auction aggregator service, and this is something I'm willing to pay for but first of all I want to check how feasible a project like this would be, and the type of skills from a programmer I'd need to outsource. What I'm after is something similar to popsike.com - which records the price of music items sold on ebay over about $30. It's a searchable database, and here's an example of an individual item page http://bit.ly/9DdBxB. It records the price, photo and description of the auction in an automated way, and each ended auction is given it's own URL. I want to do something similar to this but in a much smaller niche. The items I want to aggregate are all part of the same ebay category The site needs to be searchable (inegrated with a google custom search, searching mysite.com as default). -Searching ebay.co.uk and ebay.com (UK & US sellers) only, with the GBP final price as the default -completed auctions and buy it nows to ve recorded, as long as the auction ended with a winner (so no reserve not me, or buy it nows without a bidder recorded) -all items I want to aggregate are from one category, with one set of keywords, and have a minimum price. -each relevant completed listing should be added to the database -I'd like each page to be manually editable too -there will be about 20-40 new listings that fit my critera ending each week -possible integration with an existing very relevant wordpress site, or an all new domain Using the example of blue widgets as my key search term, there are around 50-70 possible shades of blue widgets ever made, and I'd like each one to have a separete category landing page. So for example, the site's overall parent category would be blue widgets, then ->very light blue widgets would be one subcategory under which relevant past auction listings would appear. What categories the shade of widget appears in would be pre-determined by the keywords of the listing (very light blue widgets would always be in the auction title in this case), which would correlate with the categories on the site. If you're still with me, what level of work would be involved in this? What sort of programmer should I be looking for? Any rough ideas of how much this should cost?
