    Hello Everyone,

I have seen alot of comments, reviews and news reports stating that ebay, and its partner company paypal are finally starting to sink. There have been numerous times that I have been reading around forums like digitalpoint finding vast amounts of people that are unhappy with ebay and paypal (like myself)

So, do you guys think that ebay and paypal will eventually dwindle and let other websites take over as the market leaders?

I am currently using moneybooker for my companies, it is far easier to use, the customer service is superb and I have never had (or heard of) a bad experience with them, so why are people not changing over?

I am trying to launch a new project I have, but to pay for server costs and designs etc I have to pay through paypal, which is impossible considering I only use moneybooker, and as far as I know, there is no way to pay from moneybooker to paypal, unless you guys know of some?

So, take a look at the poll and vote, I would hope to see ebay and paypal gone down the drain if I am honest, there customer service is terrible and they treat there true customers like dirt!

    Thanks

    Jonathan

I am not fan of ebay but I don't think paypal will go down anytime soon. Both are still very popular and enjoy a big following.

i rarely use ebay any longer, seems they come up with some stupid new rule every other day, but i think that they will never close, too many people use them, as for paypal, they are here to stay as well, again, i only use paypal if i have to, and never keep any money in the a/c longer than is needed.

Ebay is annoying, when I try to sell stuff and all these messages and stuff, and very strict and what not.
Paypal is still hopping, until some processors make the leap and get some more advertising so we can trash paypal ;) (I will love that day :p)

I think Ebay will be going down soon.
Too many fees too many complaints horrible customer service.

But I think Paypal will stay up. They've got a good fanbase and a lot of businesses are using them as a payment method now.

Maybe because no one uses them.

Paypal and ebay are both great and I use both regularly. I don't see them 'nearing the end' anytime soon.

Yeah of course smaller places have no complaints, but when they hit big, there will be lots of complaints ;)

I don’t think that’s going to happen, there’s no close competitors on par with them at the moment to even pose a threat to their current market share

they will stay, especially paypal. I think the only way ebay will disappear is if somebody like google make their own and charge nothing for listing your items. And if google do that then they will be serious competition to ebay but it will take years to get the ebay community over, things dont change over night. So basically i think ebay/paypal are here to stay for along time anyway

I agree. Unless Google comes out with a similar system, the ebay/paypal duo are here to stay.

Google has that item place,(I forget the name) to shop in general, but I don't think you can buy stuff directly from a google owned place, but they do have google checkout. I think they are trying to get google checkout popular, then hit it with an ebay like system, but I could be loosing my mind ;)

I seldom use Ebay but they are doing very well, except for the purchase of Skype which made them lost a lot of money, their Pay Pal investment proved to be excellent and had reap them great profits. They are definitely here to stay as they occupied a niche market and basically had full control over it.

I use paypal but not ebay. The vast proportion of people who use paypal simply make it number 1 although their customer service and way of functioning needs to be improved a lot. The paypal will continue to be popular in the years to come, imo :)

customer service with paypal has to be the worst i have ever seen. i prefer to stick to direct credit card processing. paypal is just so big they dont really care about the individual customer. but i find it unlikely that they will be going away any time soon...

I don't use Ebay that often but I love Paypal, I would never switch to other money booking companies as long as they're around.

I guess alot of you guys that still like paypal have never had to try and get some customer support from them, its almost impossible!

And ebay is full of scammers now, and to be honest, they are going to ruin the internet, and with the new laws enforced by ebay, it has made it easier for people to get scammed on ebay
