eBay affilliate setup?

    Hi Everyone,

I must appologize for being so new at this first. I've been reading on the affiliate program that CJ had and now it has switched over to eBay's Partnership program.

Well, I signed up to eBay's parternship program and did all the payment and tax information with no problem. Now what do I do? I'm embarrassed not knowing....

I did do a search on the Internet and on DP for this... but I've only come up with RSS feeds and/or eBay's API option.

Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Just looking for more reading or even instructions on what to do next. Thanks a bunch!

    Respects,

    Lhlalyam

It was quite instant for me. I signed up and was approved.

I got instantly approved as well. And the best part is, that I got approved for all the ebay programs worldwide..except Ebay France and Italy, which doesn't really matter!

When ebay was with CJ, I was only being approved for the ebay program according to my country

You can generate a code (an ebay listing) and place it into your website. Go to your ebay parner network, then to Tools and then to Link Generator. Generate your ID (it's a ten digit number). Copy it. You will use it later.

Go to Widgets and then to Editor Kit. Select an ebay you want to be affiliated with and push Go. It will take you to the page where you can now create a code (you may need to get registered if you do not have an ebay account). Select your parameters there and at the bottom choose eBay Partner Network and then place your ID there. Press Continue.

You will see the code there and your selected listing.

Play with it. Use different keywords to generate different listings.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip Vitalbusiness! Rep added for the useful tip! I'll try this out as you shared.... Just curious.... can I use a number of keywords and make pages on my site for each one of these?

You can virtually try any keyword. As long as those products exist on ebay.

Bro, login to your ebay partner network, and go to your dashboard, where you:

    Watch the instructional video

After you log in the first thing I recommend you do is watch eBay’s instructional video. It has some good information that will help you get started.

    Create campaigns

The next thing you want to do is create a campaign for each of your niche stores. The ID generated for each web site will be the ID used for tracking affiliate commissions. This is equivalent to the CJ PID number.

There is an option to create bulk campaigns but I couldn’t figure out how to do this. Instead I added each site one at a time.

    Tracking will be more detailed

According to the video, affiliates will now be able to track a lot more information than we could with CJ. This includes the ability to see bids and winning bids. To me this means we will now see how many bids were made and be able to compare these to winning bids. The options available are exciting!

Tracking will also include being able to see what pages within a site is driving traffic, though I don’t know if we can use this feature with BANS sites. Campaign IDs track websites and Custom IDs track whatever page has been assigned to it.

I think I'll hold off on the $97.00 dollars for the BANS at the moment until I try out the tips provided here. Thanks for the heads up!

No problem. I did a ton of research before I plunked down that $97 myself. You'll thank me when you do though. :)

    Hello all,

I'm having trouble with my CJ account. I signed up with ebay as an affiliate, my daughter in law joined ebay through my link and bid on an item, but I have not been credited with commission in CJ and they have not replied to my emails.

I am concerned because I advertise ebay on my website and craigsagent. The PID seems to be correct. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong.

    Any thoughts?
