Selling Ebay affiliate sites - 56 domain sites + 50 subdomain sites, with traffic and revenue

Hi, due to some financial difficulties, I need to sell off a group of my websites. These consist of 56 domain sites, and 50 subdomain sites. I'm not prepared to break the sites up - I only want to sell them as a complete group.

These are all Ebay Partner Network (EPN) ( https://ebaypartnernetwork.com/ ) affiliate sites, that list Ebay auctions using the McJiffy ( http://www.mcjiffy.com/ ) Ebay auction listing script. This script is similar to the Build A Niche Store (BANS) script, but is open source. The auction listings are automatically sourced from the Ebay RSS feed. The Ebay Developer Program API ( https://developer.ebay.com/ ) is also used to power the 'Related Searches' and 'Similar Topics' sidebar menus on the websites. These dynamic menus allow for an open-ended number of pages to be indexed by the search engines, as pages are created on the fly.

The websites make money when someone clicks through to the listed Ebay auction. Originally EPN paid out on a per-sale commission basis, but they have recently switched to their PPC Quality Click Pricing payout system ( https://ebaypartnernetwork.com/files/hub/en-US/qcp.html ). Due to their niche targetting, the sites I'm selling get the best QPC quality score of all my EPN affiliate sites, although that payout system is still too new to give a definite value. The QPC preview shown during September also showed that my sites would have produced around 30% more revenue from the new QPC payout system, than they did from the old commission system.

I haven't done any significant promotion on these sites, beyond linking to them from my site, http://proxyfreelist.com , to get them indexed in the search engines. I recently submitted all the domain sites via the tool at http://official.my/addurl.php , but I don't expect this promotion to kick in for a few weeks or months, due to the indexing delays at most of the sites submitted to.

Despite the lack of promotion, the sites get a fair amount of highly targetted search engine traffic. Each month they build up additional traffic and revenue. Some additional promotion would yield better results.

The main group of domain sites made $337.2 AUD (Roughly $286.62 USD) from the Ebay Partner Network during a 69 day period where I had most of them set up using the same EPN campaign ID. Prior to this period, I had all my EPN sites set up on the same campaign ID, and after this period I used individual IDs for all the sites. I've since switched them back to using a single campaign ID, as I think combining the sites into a single EPN campaign provides a better return with Quality Click Pricing.

    Revenue screenshots:

    http://blitzring.com/files/quillhost-2.png
    http://blitzring.com/files/quillhost-3.png

Generally I find that this group of sites make around $1 AUD for every 21 pageviews, with an ECPM of around $47.80 AUD (roughly $40 USD).

Some Adsense ads placed onto these sites would probably provide some good extra revenue due to the high degree of niche targetting.

I've recently tweaked the sites to comply with some policy changes made by EPN, and to prevent unrecognized spider and scraper bots following the auction links and causing the site's click-through quality score to drop, as well as to provide better search engine traffic targetting for the sites. These changes have resulted in a short term drop in earnings, but I applied the same changes to the auction section of another site (proxyfreelist.com) about a month earlier, and that site went from reguarly making less than $6 a month from EPN, to making $78.67 from EPN during September (SCREENSHOT: http://blitzring.com/files/hps-pfl.png ) .

About a month ago, I moved the home-phone-store.info site to a freehosted account at Byethost.com and set up 50 subdomain sites on it. The subdomain sites are still new and have not yet started to develop significant traffic, however, the EPN campaign I have them set up on (along with their base domain - home-phone-store.info) made $17.62 AUD during September (SCREENSHOT: http://blitzring.com/files/hps-pfl.png ). Given a few months to grow these should start to produce some good revenue. The only promotion I've done with these subdomain sites is to link to them from the 'links' page at http://home-phone-store.info/links.php . Additional promotion could be done via the free search engine submitter at http://official.my/addurl.php . A good strategy to adopt with these affiliate sites, would be to continue to create nich targetted subdomain sites with them, and link to the subdomain sites from the 'links' pages of their base domain sites. Over time it should be possible to develop some significant revenue using that method. Any required keyword research can be done using the keyword tools at http://www.keywordindex.com/ , http://www.spacky.com/ , http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ , https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal , etc.

The sites are all fairly easy to manage. There's no fancy backend for them, just a text file you edit - but this file is well commented, and it is fairly obvious which settings to edit. I'm happy to set up the sites for the buyer, so they won't need to make any changes themselves.

The McJiffy script allows for sites tp be pointed (parked) to a central site, with each site having its own individual configuration settings. Currently I have most of the sites hosted at Quillhost pointed to the blitzring.com base domain (wizardgear.info is set up on its own addon domain account). The subdomain sites hosted at Byethost are all pointed to their parent domain, home-phone-store.info. Each site is setup with its own individual configuration, although most of them use the same theme. This makes the sites very easy to manage.

I'm looking to sell the entire group of 106 sites for $1000 USD. This works out to $17.86 per domain site, or $9.43 per site after factoring in the subdomain sites. This would be a good price even if these were new sites with no revenue.

Payment can be by Paypal, Moneybookers, or Egold. I will also consider Escrow.com, however it will be up to the buyer to pay all escrow fees.

I will also include the Quillhost hosting account, and the Byethost freehost account with the sale. The Quillhost hosting is paid up to: 04/05/2010. The renewal fee is $21.48 USD (Yearly payment). Despite the low cost, I have not had any problems with Quillhost's hosting. If the buyer needs the sites moved to their own hosting, then I'm happy to do that for them too.

I will also edit the sites to incorporate the buyer's EPN campaign ID, and Ebay Developer Program API key, as well as the email address they wish to use for the site's contact pages.

I'll be happy to provide the buyer with whatever help they need in setting up the sites, and in setting up the Ebay accounts required by the sites.

any way to get individual traffic stats for the domains? just seeing one domain webstats with them all lumped in does not give a good indication on what is what.

    Thanks

When I changed all the Quillhost sites to point to the BlitzRing.com account, all the individual traffic stats were nuked. I'm selling them as a group in any case, so it shouldn't matter.

You can check the revenue screenshots for the page impressions recorded by Ebay to get a rough idea of the traffic.
    http://blitzring.com/files/quillhost-1.png
    http://blitzring.com/files/quillhost-2.png
    http://blitzring.com/files/quillhost-3.png

As I say, I've never really promoted these sites, beyond listing them at http://proxyfreelist.com/my-shopping-sites.php to get them indexed. I did some recent promotion with the domain sites by submitting them at http://official.my/addurl.php but I wouldn't expect that to kick in for a while yet due to acceptance delays. Despite that, the sites have earned a reasonable bit of money due to the number of sites; the number of 'virtual' pages the McJiffy script can generate; and the high conversion rate of the Ebay auction listings.

It's probably worth mentioning that I'm constantly tweaking the script these sites use, and making it into more of a CMS (Content Management System). You can see the beginnings of this with the http://wizardgear.info site. You can see a more advanced version of the CMS part in the Battlestar Galactica website pack I'm selling at http://galactica-online.info/website-pack-info . I also plan on adding Amazon listings, and possibly Oodle.com classified ad listings, to the script in future, as well as any other content and revenue streams I can find. I'll be supplying the buyer with any updated versions of the script as they become available, and I'll be happy to help the buyer out with any questions or problems they have.

My recommended strategy for these sites would be to develop them out as content sites. Periodically go through them and add relevant articles and other content. This will keep Ebay happy, and will generate a steady increase in search engine traffic.

@Romee - I'm selling a group of sites here, not buying sites. If you want to promote your own website for sale then I suggest you start your own thread, instead of spamming this one

EDIT: I see you've spammed the same message all over the forum, too, so I've reported your post.
