I am sure that if 5 star affiliate is blogging about it then its real, he knows his stuff when it comes to affiliates etc - they dont call him 5 star for nothing

Yes I blogged about the contest and got ALL the info directly from the Ebay site. It's a REAL contest and they have had them before for lower amounts. I saw that link to past contests on the site. I try to spread good news about ways to make money whenever I find things of interest. My take, as I'm sure I said on my blog is that Ebay is essentially paying to increase their user generated content. User generated content is FREE advertising for them (if they weren't paying for winners) but look at all the great marketing content they will get from people that blog and write reviews but don't win! User reviews sell better than any 100K a year Ebay marketing guru can. I'm having a contest on my forum right now for the BEST answer to the question "If you had to start over (as an affiliate, SEO or webmaster) - knowing what you know now, what would you do differently. Why am I giving away a big prize and cash from my own pocket??? Same as Ebay, I want more user genrated content, but more importantly in my contest, I want answers that will help the rest of my forum members avoid common pitfalls and become more successful faster.
