I don't know if I would say that. I have to kind of agree with some of the BANS community in that maybe it is underpriced. If for no other reason than to prevent those who don't want to be serious about using it from doing so. A LOT of people just through up crap stores and flood the market if you will with junk.

Also, while it is poorly written software, it is more than just a plugin or something trivial. It is easy for a non-developer to say something like "all it does is..." without knowing what it takes to actually make something look easy.

I'm completely unconcerned with the crap stores that get "thrown up". They do not represent competition for me or anyone. Those folks are wasting their time, IMO.

I have no way of judging whether it's poorly written software or not. It seems to work OK for me, and, indeed, offers a pretty powerful platform for easy site building in the eBay affiliate sphere. It cuts through a lot of stuff and allows me to get quickly to the real work of adding content and doing Web 2.0 promotion. The upcoming version promises to offer even more usability.

All that said, if someone can point out to me how I can make more money using a different platform given what I know about seo and promotion, I'm all ears. As it stands, I do better revenue-wise with BANS than I do with WordPress using phpBay. Please tell me if I'm missing out on anything.

I have to agree about some people wasting time. They will rarely make a dime IMO.

As for the seo stuff, I'm curious as to how you approach that. I think what I'm doing is better SEO-wise than what bans does (without a bunch of mods anyway). My default layouts do things like content ordering, good title usage, and a few other things.

If you are interested, I'm in beta testing now and I let you jump in.

Whether you used EasyNicheStore or BANS, be sure to make your sites as unique as possible, and remove the footprints as much as possible.

This will give you a better advantages on SEO. If you plan to promote your sites via PPC, then it's another story :)

Well, I agree about minimizing footprints, and the upcoming version of BANS purportedly will enable users to eliminate any affiliate/eBay footprint.

That said, you see a lot of discussion posing enormous dangers of being de-indexed by Google by reason of creating a footprint accross multiple sites. I've been around this sphere for a while, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone post in the seo forums that their site was banned because there was a footprint. I'm even thinking of the millions of MFA pages on the default WordPress theme that remain in the index.

I think it's an issue because people say its an issue. I also think that the danger is more theoretical than real. Nevertherless, I welcome the about to be released new BANS version. All my footprints will be erased. So, there!

    hey Berserker:

The footprint theory is certainly not a conspiracy. Remember Traffic Equalizer? G mass banned TE sites based on footprints.

It never heart to do a little extra work, just to be extra work :)

Now that you mention it, I do recall Traffic Equalizer a few years back. That was pretty blatant and I never got involved. Has there been anything like that since? Anyhow, with the new BANS, it seems as though we'll be able to eliminate all possible footprints. That won't eliminate the need to incorporate unique content, however.

Actually, when I add in unique contents to my BANS sites, my conversion and traffic greatly improved.

it's all hard work but the result is well worth it.

I keep seeing these statements that BANS is overpriced. I own it, so that's a moot issue for me, and I've recovered the $97 many times over. However, I keep asking this question which no one answers. Given the fact that I'm pretty good at seo and Web 2.0 promotion, is there an alternative program or platform that you folks are suggesting that will enable me to increase my revenues as an eBay affiliate? Please offer proof.

Please don't suggest phpBay. I already use that on my WordPress installations.

To each his own. If you are an experienced coder, then yes, BANS may be overpriced for you.

If you are total newbie or a non techcie(like most of us in DP), then BANS provide a solution where you can build an eBay site quickly and easily. In addiotin, you get supports from the BANS guy. To me, these features are worth far more than $97.

    Just my two cents,

I have not tried EasyNiceStore, But I have tried bans and even getting results. So my recommendation is to go for BANS.

I also agree that this is overpriced. I have just written a similar script to test the ebay feed. I am using this script on this site. It was just half an hour work. So yes, if you know how to code, BANS if overpriced.
