EasyNicheStore & BANS, Which is Best?

Discussion in 'Commission Junction' started by BusinessMinded08, Feb 12, 2008.

I am looking to start a eBay auction site but I am debating between BANS and EasyNiche ... many people said there is no features on BANS that EasyNiche doesn't have. The fact that they both simply use the eBay API and nothing more kind of makes me wonder.

Should I pay $45.00 for EasyNiche or $90 for BANS? Debates please...

Well see, I want to choose BANS because its the big hype but I don't want to pay $97 just to jump the bandwagon. Check out EasyNiche at http://www.easynichestore.com and tell me what you think depot...

This just clouds the Niche Store subject even more. I am a NEWBEE also in the decision making process. What about just being an eBay Affiliate and having your own store? How big is the Niche Store pie?

No brainer. Go for BANS. They're just about to come out with a new version 3.0 that will knock your socks off. Among other things, you'll be able to mask both the eBay affiliate links and images. There'll be no affiliate footprint on your site. New templates and layouts and functionality are being built into it. Also, there's terrific support.

I initially approached BANS with skepticism, too. All that's vanished.

PhpBay is just as good and it is less than half the price of BANS. You can mask all your eBay links and eBay image links quite easily too.

phpBay is good, but it's limited to WordPress, not that there's anything wrong with WordPress. If you're budget is marginal, or you're a thightwad, then get phpBay. All I can say is that I got my $97 back fast with BANS, quicker than I got my $37 back on phpBay. I just think BANS is a much more powerful platform for building eBay ready sites.

^^ I agree but from my research, EasyNiche and BANS are the same, only that BANS has pre-built themes.

I could'nt agree more. BANS also has some pretty good customisable search functions that can be set up as store pages making it attractive and easy for the user. It has some powerful features that I think beats the others. And as mentioned V3 will be even better including better SEO.

BUT don't forget ebays own tools which can be used for free and produce creditable results....check out the toy shop in my sig link......shameless plug

I personally would choose BANS if you're not very tech literate. It's very easy to use and easy to implement. I personally use a variety of tools, from BANS to Wordpress and phpBay. It depends on your site's purpose and the level of control you need.

I can tell you that with proper promotion your BANS site can pay for itself in a month or two.

I would go with BANS personally. Especially since V3 is about to come out soon.

actually BANS doesn't use the ebay API, it uses their RSS mechanisms. BIG difference, and one of the reasons I started building my own, other than some shortcomings that I found.

I've been happy with BANS since November 2007. Why quibble over $45 versus $90? If you site doesn't make enough to cover $90 in the first couple of months, it's not worth either product.

mac: Same thing is what I meant to say (they both use the eBay RSS Feed.) I'm a little convinced that BANS is better but I need to see some proof now. ;)

Better is a relative term :). Functionality, design, code quality, etc. Functionally BANS is pretty good, as long you don't want to customize it. Far too much HTML is burried in PHP code. It's the kind of thing that makes us professional developers cringe. Unfortunately this kind of thing is pretty rampant in the PHP world.

I have a slightly more detailed analysis here.

i have to say that BANS is really over priced for what it does, its basically a content generator based on ebay RSS feeds
