Okay, I *think* I get it . . .

1. NEVER buy miscellaneous links, but getting a 100 links from 1 article submitted to 100 article directories is okay.

2. Rinse & repeat with several new articles, maybe 8 times X 100 directories = 800 links + original 100 links = 900 links.

3. Get someone to do a quality, niche Do Follow blog commenting service for about 100 comments = 1,000 links.

4. Stay active & posting on DP, plus maybe become active on 1 other high ranking forum.

5. Create a handful of Squidoo lens

6. Submit some niche articles on HubPages

And voila! My goal is to come back here on Halloween 2010 and show proof that I'm at the bottom of Google's 1st page of results for 1 of my juicy keywords!!

Maintaining a place on 1st three pages on famous search engines is not an easy job; you have to make continuous efforts. Try to focus on a single keyword (related to your niche) i.e. searched mostly by the people, and then make your SEO strategy in accordance with that keyword.

Okay, I've embarked on my trek to get to Page 1 on Google, if only at the bottom. I had someone on DP distribute the first article I wrote for this challenge. It's too soon to tell if he gets my article lots of pickups/backlinks. I hope so.

 

Unfortunately it's not as simple as you describe. Firstly keyword stuffing is one of only a number of elements in the google algorithym. Secondly buying backlinks is a bad idea as google has become much better at identifying sites that sell these and either banning them or wiping out any backlink benefit.

 

Getting quality backlinks from respected sites in the same niche helps, but sometimes if the niche is competitive your site must have been there for some time to stand a chance

There are so many things one has to do for improving ranking of site- best content, high pr backlinks, directoriy submisssion, article writings, populrising one's site by using methods. It is definitely a time consuming process. However, hard work put in since beginning may fetch good yield in time to come. Best of luck.

 

Buying links isn't going to help you outrank authority sites that have natural links pointing at them from websites that genuinely found their content useful. With Google it's not the quantity but the quality. Google gives value to very few of the links out there. They got sick of people collecting links for links sake. The quantity strategy is outdated. It's about quality now.

Yes, it's THAT easy. Provided you obviously select the proper keywords and do not try to beat impossible odds...

 

The core point is to have good natural content. Sure, embed keywords which you have included on your tags, but keep the language natural. Number two: once you've got good content, get other good sites to link to you. Many other recommended methods are, I would suggest, at best fashionable and at worst, ways of getting chucked off the rankings.
