    Blogs and fresh content is definitely the way to go. You should also include Facebook & Twitter share icons for example to allow people to quickly and easily distribute your content. Its all about the ease of use for the consumer. Also, in your article reference different pages of your site with relevant keywords linking to the relevant page.

    One thing google likes, don't be scared to link away to other websites (just make sure its opening in a new tab/window). I find linking to Wiki articles etc based on particular terms is appealing for both the user and search engines because it shows slightly more authenticity rather than just ramming your content full of links to your own site!
