Just use this earch term site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment", but make sure you check that they're dofollow. There are many SEO plugins that do it.

Hey, you'd be surprised at how many people DONT know this information.

 

It's a nice refresher. You can also do the same search for .gov sites.

 

Except for the fact that a .edu or .gov link to a site without relevancy will be discounted by most search engines.

The site does have to be relevant in order for any scheme to work....

If you do this with seo qauake you can also find page rank download firefox and it will show if the link is do follow.

Let me ask you this in how many colleges do you find the sale of porn? how many run gambling operations? how many are jewelry merchants and how many are selling shoes?

Google hires the brightest minds who can easily decipher the relevancy between two sites and thus determine the importance of such, and if it is of importance.

Google scores links and as such relevancy and anchor text used, have a value. Not sure what the value of each is, but I think it would be safe to venture a guess of 1 to 10

Another thing people often forget is for years before lame spammers thought to post inane comments on .edu blogs, the search engines found no such spam existed, they store websites and blogs historical data and use that history to determine the relevancy of linking to the above type sites and many others, very easily to filter to a low score.
