There are sites that are constantly updating - new products (and thus pages) are popping up, while old ones are fading away. Is there a way to warn Google about the changes - meaning automatically submit pages for deletion from Google index?
What about adding a meta tag to noindex any product page you want to remove, have to be done per url though, bah ... would like to know too if there is easier way.
There is no easy way to bulk deindex pages in Google. Pages must be submitted one by one. Google does not yet support wildcards in its url removal tool. Yahoo does. You certainly could add a noindex meta tag to the pages you want removed from the index, but then again if you want them removed you may as well 301 or 404 them. It can take 1-2 months for Google to deindex those pages from a meta tag request. The only way to quickly remove the pages from G's index is using the url removal tool.
