Easy Digital Illustrations Like Skype Use - Win $$$!

Hi all,

I require a collection of digital, vector illustrations in the exact same style as Skype use for a project I am running that promotes the use of Skype for my client.

I require multiple illustrations that need to be vector. They don't need to be overblown, just subtle and simple like Skype use.

Example shapes you could fit into your illustrations include city buildings, hearts, rainbows, stars etc.

I will pay $0.50 per illustration that I like, and you may submit as many as you wish I may pay more for fuller designs that hold a very close resemblance to Skype's design style.

Contest will end when I get what I need I will let you all know on this thread.

I will be providing feedback throughout for the better-suited pieces only, and if I do not give you feedback but you wish to receive some anyway, just let me know and I'll be happy to give you my thoughts.

These illustrations take roughly 5 minutes each, so yes $0.50. If you want to earn more, then make me more illustrations...

I know exactly how long work like this takes, most shapes I require are preset and so just need placing. $0.50 is fine for these requirements.

You're going in the right direction, but I need identical illustrations to what Skype use so I recommend you go over to their site.

TindiRindi - I quite like the balloons, but overall it feels too busy. These illustrations are just for decoration, so must be subtle like the ones I have posted as examples. Hope this helps

Expl0its1 - Again, too busy but you are coming up with some cool shape combinations. Reduce the busyness and focus on just a few simple shapes following Skype exactly how they do it.

That's $6 an hour. And it would take more then 5 minutes to make something like this that's both creative and original.

$6 an hour isn't bad for what I am asking from you... I can make EXACTLY what I am looking for in 5 minutes and so I base my offer on this. All I am asking is that a few shapes are put together in the EXACT style that Skype use...

If you have a problem with $0.50 for a 5 minute job, then don't enter. Simple. If you want to earn a few bucks for some basic shape arranging, then I look forward to your entries

If you are wondering why I am not doing these myself, the answer is because I am managing the project as a whole, bringing all the elements together. If I was stuck making simple illustrations, it would not be time efficient for me.

No I dont have a problem and thats why I enter it lol but when Exploits1 said about you are designer so I try look at your profile and there you go... you even charge someone with USD80 for a PSD logo(which sometime the logo can be just a text with a decoration or some simple style but it still required an idea rite).

Why is not time efficient since you can make it for a 5 minute? Just spare a 5 minutes each day from the whole project timeline lol...

Well when you said this its more sound like "Im a GREAT DESIGNER so the $0.50 jobd not worth for me"!!!

FYI, I even get a USD1.50 per drawings for a line art tracing which didnt even required an idea or creativeveness. Just trace the sample picture and give it a line(offcourse black and white). And this is come with a lot of pictures, but in this what I see is that you are so hard to pleased since you THE GREAT DESIGNER lol so even if Im send 1000(perhaps) ermm wait I think im too ambitious here ok I send 10(lower it much much more lol), you might not even take one lol! And since you THE GREAT DESIGNER(again) you can take the idea and make it your own(and this can be done in 5 minutes lol ops even shortest than that maybe since YOU R THE GREAT DESIGNER)

*EDIT: it sad when see designer rate the other like this(IMO its ok when someone that doesnt know how hard is to come with an idea come with this rate)

 

I can charge more for my work because I am professionally recognised as a graphic designer, I have studied a two year art foundation and a three year BA Single Honor degree in graphic design. I've incurred around a £10,000 student debt to acquire this so that I can focus on the larger jobs that I can command. I never once said I am a great designer, I just no longer need to distribute my time to smaller tasks like this, doing so would be detrimental to my progress as a design businessman wouldn't it?

There is no creativity involved, I am asking you to REPLICATE something thats already there. You can live trace the thing if you want, it's not going to be used for commercial purposes or public at all. It's an internal project for a document that is 85mm x 55mm (credit card), therefore the illustrations do not need to be big, fussy, creative genius or anything other than exactly what I have asked.

I'm going to close this thread since it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere fast. Thankyou to all the entries, they are all cool but unfortunately do not fit the bill for what I need.

Your work was almost what I was looking for, the shapes resemble the basics of what Skype use but just didn't quite replicate the crispness in line. Apart from that, they were coming along nicely I thank you for your entry. I have just found this though, so I will close this thread to stop any further submissions.
