I am back with ANOTHER logo contest. I need a BRANDABLE web 2.0 style logo for DegreeOutlet(dot)com. I do not have any color specifications because the website will be built around this logo. I was thinking I would like a stylized D and O with a graduation cap on top of the D but this is completely up to you. This contest will end at noon PST on 2/26. Payment will be made via paypal immediately after the contest winner is announced and the logo is received. Depending on the quality of entries there may be a $5 runner up prize added.
Here is my entry. It's not quite finished yet, but I wanted to get feedback to see if I'm heading in the right direction with it before I put too much time into polishing it up. Just trying to connect the hat to the ".com" tag at the bottom, as if it's a price tag. I'm also going to redo the hat over so it looks better. Let me know your thoughts please
polycode - very nice. I would like to see it cleaned up and "glossier" looking but it is definitely very nice.
a4hire - very nice. I like the design and color polycode - I like the design but I would to see a different design than a4hire
Sorry but I have been following this contest and I had to say something here. Polycode's design looks nothing like artisit4hire's design. Sorry a4h (im going to be brutal here) but not even the colours are the same, the gradient is different the curves are different even the lettering looks like it was done professionally whereas yours looks like a rounded square with a sharp square cut out the middle with no edging at all on the inner trim. If you look, polycode's design is exactly the same as it was before just with a web2.0 look as requested of him. Perhaps instead of being unhappy with polycode you should be requesting something unique from a4h? Polycode even has a different .com section to a4h and his design was posted first. Plus his hat and DO are differently proportioned, his hat is more web.20, and he first used the DO with degree outlet underneath. He even made an additional black web2.0 alternative for you to choose between. Sorry but seriously, it looks more like a4h is copying polycode. im sure he didn't but its ludicrous to bite polycode's head off for it when if anything it should be a4h considering unique revisions. Not only is polycode's design more professionally made but it was also done first. I may possibly be biased in this but I really don't think I am being. Also, I'm again very sorry to butt in here, I don't normally do that but I felt the need to say something.
@wes1der: I simply did what you asked and made my design more polished and glossy. It is exactly the same design as the one you said you liked before a4hire even posted anything, I just made it glossy like you asked and it turns out someone else did blue web 2.0 too. Would you like to see it in different colours? Or do you want me to start from scratch now? Do you not like the design anymore? Let me know what you would like me to do. @a4hire: I had already started on mine before you posted and happened to choose blue when asked to make mine glossy because it denotes trust and professionalism in a company. I never copy, I am 100% a unique and professional designer, and it is not my fault that you picked the same design of letters "DO" as me and then I happened to pick similar colours to you. I can easily change the colours anyway, and IMO they still look nothing alike. Mine is the same design as my first entry. Really, they are not even the same colour since mine has two opposing four colour gradients that are not the same as yours, plus offset path, inner glow, and a curved and intersected shine. And if you look at it properly, you will see that the design is still the same as my first one, I was asked to make it more polished and "glossier" so I did. It's not like there are so many ways to do "Web 2.0" gloss that we can all do it completely different, and he asked for that. Since you have the same shape of letters as my design of course they will look somewhat alike.
