I like the concept of it, was in Australia last year, there was no water, and the weather was just horid, climate change is real. Thanks

I certainly won't be participating. I dont see any link at all between turning off your power for an hour and climate change. The climate is constantly changing, it has been changing for millions of years before the world had any power to turn off.

Honestly, who thinks up these stupid things?

Lol I didn't even realize it was on. Doing it for an hour seems rather pointless anyway.

I don't see any point in celebrating the earth hour, especially in places which are prone to frequent load shedding (power cut). Yesterday, we were forced to celebrate the earth hour for up to four hours due to power cut as the summer had already set in. It is a fancy to celebrate the occasion in places which never experience the load shedding while it is a day today phenomenon in most of the developing countries which had not reached self sufficiency in power generation. A point to ponder!

Um ... yah let me just ask my data center to shut my servers down and tell my support staff to go home.

    Good idea.

I am all for greener energy resources, the carbon based energy rescoursces, and nuclear energy are no good for future, The low sea level and island nations could suffer if the climate change happens in this rate and this keeps on building up. I even use the tube mostly for commuting, rather then having a car. one can make little sacrifices like this to be energy efficent. Thanks.
