Just trying to figure out this wild ride. Placed leaderboards on two of my sites. I was getting about 10,000 impressions total and 15 clicks a day. Earning about 80.00 a day. This was about a week and a half. Then my stats stayed the same but my payout was very low. Averaging 15.00 a day now. My question is. If I have been smart priced will I stay smart priced or will my earnings go back up? I dont think I understand this smart pricing thing.
80 dollar per day for just 15 clicks is very high. Even 15 dollar for 15 clicks is still high, although some niches are known to pay high. Personally i wouldn't be worried with a average of 1 dollar per click... I average around 7 cents per click :/
The thing is I don't think it's from clicks. I logged on one morning and saw 700 impressions and 0 clicks. I earned 13.00
Sometimes the stats are out of synch with each other... it time they possibly equalised. Also, you do sometimes get paid for a certain number of impressions, but this amount would seem too high to be just this, I'd think.
15 clicks on 10k pageviews seems too low 80 dollars for 15 clicks seems too hight Where they not 150 clicks instead? That'd make more sense...
Adsense CPM ads generate money without clicks. But i haven't really heard of sites that get more earnings from Adsense CPM than they get from clicks. But your CTR seems very low, i would try to fix that first. Make sure you place ads above the fold, experiment with different colors, formats and positions.
My sites do make more off of immpressions than clicks. You guys are always talking about click and I coud care less about them. For instace, I go to my account this morning and I have made 3.46 on 876 impressions. 0 clicks.
A smart advertiser can look at his logs and see that your site is giving him a lot of conversions. He can then lower his bid price and make a new site-based ad with a low CPM to get the clicks, but spend way less.
The ads always stay the same. It's always the same one. For the last month. It's not that I'm complaining or anything. Hell I love not worrying about clicks. It's just I think I'm getting spoiled with these earnings from impressions and I'm going to freak out when I come back down to earth.
