Hello all I am in the u.s. and I changed all my sites to show to u.s. traffic, my cpc doubled, which is what I was looking for and of course my sites visited went down, that ok with me but I noticed that in the morning hours from midnight till about noon my cpc is high but from about 5pm till midnight my cpc drops very much, is this normal. thanks agian all
Depends where you are in the world: if your primary source of visitors is the US, then your earnings will be most while the US is awake and working. This is Monday-Friday from around 8AM East Coast time till around 7PM West Coast time. This of course peaks at a time when the whole US is awake. Not sure exactly when, but I think the time difference between the East Coast and West is 5 hours (could be wrong), so sometime in the afternoon of the East Coast is when you'll see the maximum earnings. I see this on one of my sites too.
I think he is talking about CPC... which seems reasonable, since the higher pay ads shows first (start of the day)... after those advertisers budget run out for the day.... lower pay ad shows (end of the day)...
This is how it is supposed to be. The higher paying advertisers get their ads shown first. Once their budget for the day is met , the lower paying ads get displayed too. Google calculates ecpm for each ad ( 10 *CTR * CPC) and gives preference to ones with highest ecpm. In many cases. the ads with higher cpc are also the ones with higher ecpm.
I agree, this is normal. If I check my stats early in the day when some of my channels only have one or two clicks, the CPC is incredibly high. Then the average declines for the rest of the day.
