Earnings from Forums ?

I am going to put adsense on my forum.So I am just going to try it by putting ads along with the threads.

What you feel ?

Anyone tried ?
Whatz the result >?

 

It's up to you where you put the ads. It's your forums and the amount you earn depends on your sites niche and where on the treads you put them. What I say is that you try it and see for yourself if it is worth having them there or not.

 

Usually forums have a very low clickthrough

 

The result is 0.02 - 0.10 % CTR
Wich is nothing.

 

very low clickthrough rates, its better find some advertisers from same category.

 

CTR is very low with forums even if you do have advertisers from the same category.

 

Forums/Directories/Ezines have very low CTR. Why dont you find CPM based advertising instead of CPC model ?

 

I use it on my forum. Yesterday I made $1.33 from it.

It's usually quite poor, but it pays off from time to time.

If you keep your adverts subtle and invasive then it won't annoy your users. So whats the harm in trying?

 

They don't pay much unless you have thousands of uniques a day.

 

Forums are notoriously low earners for Adsesnse. I ended up completly removing Adsense from the forum area of my site and use only Kontera which does far better than Adsense or YPn did in the forum. (still use Adsense on the rest of the site though)..

 

I've had a site & message board up for over 6 months now, with around 250 visitors per day. I've yet to get my first click on any of the forum ads!

 

My new forums get ~.2% CTR. My older ones get about double that for 100-200 clicks a day

yea, my site is in the top 9,000 according to alexa ranking

i one under the header (728X90)

then i put two 350x200 on the navbar

 

As manhcuong says, it's depends on the size. But also. A forum is were you build confidence with your members and you can advertise diffrent products that suits your members and then you will make a good affiliate cash.
