I'd say that Friday-Sunday I get a lot less traffic but higher eCPM. My impression is that my visitors are surfing my site during work time but then on the weekend the fewer that come are able to spend more time exploring advertised sites, so they click more.
Yeah, I saw this post by Jen and it seems to me that's what happening to me on normal weekends (not sure about holidays). Anyway, my stats are generally lower ecpms and lower total revenue on fri, sat and sun. It's nice that you have a higher ecpm on weekends
It must depend on the nature of the website to a certain extent. I have a dog agility website and most weekends people are either training or competing or getting ready for a show. The traffic goes up on Sunday evening when they all want to see how everyone else has got on.
I find that across all of my sites traffic dips at the weekends. The general trend during the week is its fairly quiet up until about 10am, then picks up a lot until about 4 or 5pm where it drops off rapidly. So basically its just work traffic
I get a definate drop in traffic on weekends then straight back to normal on monday, it wasn't so bad at christmas, plenty of bored people over the holidays i guess, and people who dont celebrate it.
Earnings are lower because there are fewer clicks because of lower levels of traffic. This isn't always the case but often is.
