Earning too much - Could this be an issue?

For 2008 i decided to do less work on other peoples sites and focus on my own, so about a month ago i kicked off 3 projects. Well now they are earning around $200 each on average per day.

They are rising quickly every day, and today two of them look to break $300 each and the other $250 or so given todays revenue so far.

The total is obviously a very large amount given the short timeframe on top of my previous regular earnings. So due to Google's tendancy to ban publishers at the drop of a hat it's got me concerned.

I have searched, but can't find any info on earnings increases like this.

Has anyone who's had their account disabled had a dramatic increase in revenue just before hand?

Stop being so paranoid. As long as your CTR isn't over 15% (guesstimate), you should be fine.

As long as the traffic and clicks are legitimate you have nothing to worry about.

As long as it is legit you don't have to fear, you need to think if you earn $1, Google can easily earn $3 from it. So the more you earn the merrily you are and so will Google, as long as there is no false clicks etc, I guess everyone will be happy.

if they dont like your traffic they will ban you. if your sending to much international traffic. so you better be sending good traffic. and make sure your ctr is low too

It will always come down to the method on how the traffic was obtained... if it was through pay-to-surf or automated traffic generation sites then it could very well be a problem.

If everything is legitimate, then there is no reason why you would suffer any problems.

The CTR is around 9% and the traffic is about 99.8% from either Google or Google powered search like AOL etc.

I also monitor for invalid clicks with statistical software etc and everything complies with the TOS, however i'm concerned the large rise in revenue is bound to raise some flags.

With so many stories of people being banned for invalid clicks or <insert excuse> i really find it hard to believe some of these people done anything wrong.

Really this is time for celebrating rather than worrying. Esp if you keep track using statistical software, any issues or questions from Google, you can use these as evidence, nothing to worry about.

CTR % has nothing to do with getting banned.

It should be yes, but with so many "I've been banned" stories it's hard to get excited until the cheque's in the mail.

I've been thinking i should de-optimize the placements and kill off the CTR to lower the earnings. Because realistically taking 3 sites and going from $0 to $600-700 per day in 1 month is kind of excessive to the normal revenue increase of most sites in their system.

Invalid clicks can get any website banned and you just can't do anything here, but the massive amount of banned users on dp is simply from cheating, tos violations.
It is the same as using paypal there are like 10% of people who get there accounts suspended, but there are also this 90% who never had any problems because they never abused the system.

And about lowering your CTR, I don't see the need in it.
With your earning it is a matter of time until adsense looks into your website/traffic and if it is clean then why would they suspend it for high CTR.

I know, but look at your signature.

The traffic is 100% clean, from memory there has been under 50 clicks from many thousands from non search engine referring websites. So it's all organic traffic.

Recently I learned about this service, http://www.whosclickingwho.com. I think it is more for protecting your adsense account from being fraudulently brought to the daily maximum, but would something like this help?

BTW one warning, do not give out the urls of those adsense web sites in the forum, there are enough fools with too much time and jealously to click bomb you out of no where. Have read a few cases on this forum, quite scary.

You are sooo right. That is just the reason why I don't have my websites in signature or even in profile.

I guess I can live with out advertising my website on DP, but hey at least it will be safe from jealous readers ;)

I too had a large earnings increase last year, simply because I stopped making websites for other people and focussed on adding to my own.

I have traffic monitored on my sites to be safe. As long as your ctr is reasonable (mine averages 12% across all my sites) and the traffic you're receiving is clean (all things being legit) I think you're good.

In fact, I think your success simply makes Google very, very happy.

Don't you dare change your ad blocks either! Your ctr is not ridiculously high (like 20% or more), so I wouldn't tinker with anything at all.

    Congrats sweetfunny! :)

Nah i won't do that, and my adsense account isn't linked to my signature.

Well if anyone wants some help, start by reading my thread SERP Domination - 4,785 Page 1 Rankings in 14 Days

The site i made the post about wasn't one of my Adsense sites, but exact same principal.
