Anything that is worth having is worth working for. PPC ads are an easy way for a novice to make money. But really, you need to offer web visitors something. I recommend you learn a skill, whether that is web development, designing, or anything else, people won't buy anything from you if you have nothing to offer.
Developing software is a great way to earn money. You can either develop it yourself if you have the skills, hire someone to create an exclusive product for you, or buy private label or master resale rights to a high quality piece of software. You can also offer training in any area of expertise. So in addition to translation services you could offer tutoring services regarding a language. I've seen people do this via skype. I'm not sure how profitable it is for them but with the right marketing I'm sure you could make that work.
Don't put all you eggs in the same basket. Diversify your income. Freelance here, adsense there, content writing over there, etc.
If you know your game, you can make good money on ebay. The good thing is that you already have traffic. Research the market, write a good ebook and ad copy and there you go!
Well doing paid blogging with networks like Payperpost is also a great way to make money online. Get paid to programs are great as well. Check out the site in my sig ('make money online') if anyone needs more info.
I like this link: www.translatorpub.com Because here you can not only find jobs for translators, but also work for graphic expats, technical documentation, text work, etc. Have fun checking it out. If anyone knows other links, I´m excited to check out as well.
buy a facebook app and earn off that, from either CPC ads, CPM ads, or CPA offers. It's an incredibly untapped market and it is so much easier to market an app then a website these days
You said other than PPC and affiliates..so instead of working for them own one and make others work for you! Just a suggestion. Other option is Freelancing.
