Earning money from a hobby in the UK

    Hey,

I have a full time job 9-5 monday to friday. In my spare time I have a website that I like to maintain which I've built up over the course of a year with a lot of very hard work. It now gets around 6 - 7 thousand people to it per day.

The site earns money through advertisements on the site, however this is very sporadic and sometimes it can make pennys in a day and then sometimes £10-15.

I wonder if some people can answer two questions I have about this.

How do I stand in terms of declaring it as an income?
    and
If I sold this website for £20,000 would I need to declare it somehow and pay taxes etc?

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

I dont think you need to declare take unless your making over 3500 or something from it.. and if you sold it yes they would probs tax you... what website is it by the way?

Thats what I thought at first. I need to go through my earnings from it, I don't think its reached that level yet because its only recently got to a point where its making a profit.

Its the second link in my signature btw :)
