its not low - its poor, try to use high paying keywords. Use google analytics to find out the high ecpm pages on your blog then identify the keywords on that page abd then blog on them.
My recommendation would be to close your website/blog and start a new one that is about a product or service in an industry that pays more--financials, beauty products, health, etc. pay decent amounts.
you should consider the fact that your site makes some money,and thats good..not concentrate on building loyal and high traffic
