If you are in desperate need of money, here is your chance. The Seattle Biomedical Research Institute will pay volunteers as much as $4,000 to be bitten by mosquitoes infected with malaria. Scientists say no lives are in danger because the volunteers can be cured. The institute is testing which vaccines work fastest. The head of the program, Dr. Patrick Duffy, says volunteers will spend several nights under medical supervision in a hotel. All of the human trials will be reviewed for safety by the Food and Drug Administration. SOURCE: forums.webcosmo.com/Topic995-2-1.aspx
Donate a few drops of blood to poor mosquitoes (you will get back the malarial parasite as a reward) and take home a hefty US $ 4,000. Looks like a good deal.
Your helping them help thousands of people that have malaria and have to PAY for what your getting payed $4000 for.
That would not be bad if i was needing the money. I don't think nowadays it's possible to die from malaria or something... I would be more afraid of the damn vaccines
If only I lived in Seattle. If I could get ahold of them, I would honestly, and seriously consider flying myself out there.
what a weird but profitable job, the mosquitoes bit me every night at summer time, but get no money back from them...
I think scientists are getting hard time finding people, thats why price is so high. I live in Boston. I see ads different labs paying 50 to several hundred for joining this kind of thing; some less risky I think. Nobody dare to join the program yet? LOL.
I'm pretty sure this is fake. Ethically you can't do that... malaria is a complex disease and can be fatal in some people, even though there is treatment.
if the source was from sbri.org, i would believe it and malaria is not a simple "cure it" disease that involve no risk.
