earn through adsense while on workpermit

I am on a work permit (H1B) in US and I run a couple of websites.

Signed up with adsense and received my first check last week.

Appreciate very much of anybody could answers these questions.

1. Is it legal to earn additional income while H1B?

2. Does this come under business? If yes do I need to register a company to run this business or I can simply run this under my name as individual?

I still work for my employer alone and not working for my website. I just own the website.

So can I legally receive payment as investor?
