I've been thinking abt this for a while now. If somebody comes to my site and clicks on an adsense ad, he goes to the advertiser's site where hopefully he gets what he's looking for. At this stage, he does not have anything to do with my site at all. So in the future, if he's looking for similar information, he'll probably have bookmarked the advertiser's site which means that i've lost a visitor. For me to make money with adsense then, i'll probably need to get unique visitors all the time cos i dnt think the same person will click on ads more than once. Am i confused or just losing it? lol
That's why you use the competitive ad filter, just block out sites that offer the same inforamtion as you then Adsense will only show the ads that you slightly similar to your page, with different information and .. stuff. But I do think that ads should be opened in a new window/tab so the user stays on your website.
Also, if your site is rich in content, your visitors will get back to search 4 other stuff, and not only what they were looking for that particular day.
depends on content, site design, logo, if the visitor find the website attractive, surely he wont leave it.
Visitors are a renewable resource in mid-term periods (i.e. the length of time it takes for your niche to dry up, as opposed to retaining your visitors long after their initial reasons for being there are gone). In a lot of niches, people will only really search for their goals a few times then move onto other things.... Besides, if you're not the one who delivers the AdSense ad to them, someone else will. Stop worrying!
