Whoa, thanks Supper that's brilliant, never thought of that. And no, this is not the end of my journal, though it might just take on a different direction. I might write the articles to build backlinks to the blogs and directing traffic there.
Hah, just get the RSS URL for your lens, go to a pinging site and ping it. I use autopinger.com, it had the most servers to ping to, but you can use pingoat.com or ping-o-matic.com
Nope. You can find it on the right of your lens. It should look something like http://www.squidoo.com/xml/syndicate_lens/your-lens-here
ok thanks, i'm still really confused about RSS url feeds, like for example if i'm doing a blogger, squidoo, or tumblr etc, they offer you to subscribe too rss, Add content from an RSS or Atom feed to your blog, what is happening here, what purpose does it serve? bit miffed still.
RSS is like a way for readers to stay up to date with the latest stuff automatically. Like email, but better. Say I run a blog (which I do, two actually) and I offer my readers to subscribe to my blog by RSS. They subscribe, and my "feed" ends up in their RSS reader (like Google Reader). They get every blog post sent straight to their RSS reader inbox whenever I update. RSS is also a way to get your word out there by spreading around your feed to as many places as possible. Just like there are website directiories, there are RSS Feed Directories. Squidoo even offers a RSS Feed Module to add on to your lens. Just paste your Feed there (ie, http://feeds.feedburner.com/LemonarianDotCom) and not only will the lens readers get a peek inside your blog, but you'll also gain backlinks. Actually, just read this: http://lemonarian.net/what-is-rss/
Nice, cheers for the breakdown. think the pennies sort of dropping. Thats a really nice blog, like it, blogger type format but your own url, probably being daft but this is your own domain right. I won't digress! If i'm choosing a url to return my updates to though, in order to gain backlinks from, do you choose your own url, like another blog, or stick any url in, like a gov or edu as it carries more weight? cheers
i c, what i meant was, if i'm choosing to get backlinks from a website, do you have to have permission, i.e through subscription or could you choose a website like a gov.com or edu.com as they have a lot of respect with google.
I still don't know what you're saying, lol. I don't know how you could just "choose" which sites you wanna put your backlinks on. If you get a .gov or a .edu domain linking to yours, then that's awesome.
okay, rss feeds work in 2 ways right. 1. i choose to get feeds to my bloglines etc so i subscribe to a page or blog etc and get updates when its updated right? 2. i choose people to get my updates when i update my blog, squidoo etc, These are backlinks right? so- my question is: if sites offer you to send updates to other sites, how do i choose these sites?
ok, i dont mean to drag this on, but: (This is an option blogger gives me). This is my question- What am i doing here, i take it i am adding an rss url to my blog- so do i just choose my own rss url from another blog/site/lens/webpage of mine or someone elses, if so, can i just put a highly ranked url in there or do i ask for permission?
Actually, I have no idea. People do that for autoblogging, as in autogenerated content... Don't know the legal stuff though, check wikipedia or something.

So I figured out what I'm gonna do. It's a way to combine the articles with my blog... So, whenever I feel like promoting a product, I make a blog post about it, with affiliate links of course... and drive traffic to that specific post. If they don't convert, there's still a chance that they'll become a reader of my blog, which is almost better in a way... So yeah... That's what I'mma do.
