Hey, Would like to inquire even if it is legal to send mails out to a mail database that you have purchased, that is, an email list?
Yes it is legal to send out to a purchased email list. But be very careful there is a fine line between emailing and spam. Don't just send unsolicited links.Instead just send them valuable information to see if you get a response. Then if they are responsive, send them too one of your capture pages to get them to opt-in to one of your list. That way legally you would have built the list yourself. Hope this helps.
It's not quite as simple anymore as buying a list and sending emails. To understand the legal issues around business emails take a look at https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business as you will need to comply with the CAN- SPAM ACT. However, this is just the beginning. Consider where the emails have come from and if the company selling them is reputable. If the recipients haven't actually opted in knowingly to receive marketing mail then you could find yourself with more problems than it was worth. Consider where you are sending them from and how. If you are sending them from your own server then don't be surprised after the first batch if they just end up in spam folders or not received at all, especially if there are a lot Yahoo, Gmail etc. You may want to consider a reputable mail sending service with whitelisted servers. Also put thought into what you are actually sending and what you want people to do. Try to actually be human and honest about it. Remember to test and measure everything.
I wouldn't buy an entire list to begin with. It's a horrible practice honestly. Buying traffic with solo ads, converting them, and then communicating with them to grow a relationship.
I have to agree. Cold email marketing is old and just isn't a good way to do things anymore. How we use email has changed dramatically since five years ago and how people perceive it has changed too. It's use in current times is for people to specifically ask to be notified and updated, otherwise it is just an annoyance and considered spam even if it technically isn't. Consider the risk of actually harming your companies reputation too. In reality, when sending cold emails from a bulk list, only a small percentage of your emails will even get to their recipients and only a tiny percentage of those will click through. Email marketing these days has to be super white hat which takes much more resource and consideration Spammers send tens of millions a day because of this 'numbers game', reducing overhead and bypassing filters by hijacking mail servers in various ways. You should perhaps consider better ways to generate leads / make sales, but whatever methods needs to be based around your business model.
Hi there! Sending to cold or purchased email contacts is a great way to drive more leads for your business and boost your sales performance. However, there are a few aspects to consider before starting - such as, where you bought your list from, what email sending software you're using, the content of your email, how often you send to these contacts and much more. You want to ensure you're sending valuable information to a targeted list of contacts. And to accomplish that, it’s best to ensure you’ve done your homework on the above items. I work for a company called Clickback that has helped many B2B businesses send to their cold emails. Feel free to check us out online for more information. Good luck!
