As a webmaster, I prefer communicating online via e-mail. It's nice to have some time to think out your answers in an e-mail, and I like having an archive of past e-mail conversations. How about you guys? Do you see clear benefits to using instant messaging as opposed to e-mail?
If I'm talking to my friends, its easier, and faster to use IM. You don't have to type out such a long message for each reply like is usually common with e-mails. but either way, nobody is ever online when I am so I end up just using email.
I also prefer IM over email. As is fast as well as direct. No need to wait for answers as you need o wait in emails. I mostly use Yahoo Messenger! - Digital -
Instant messaging for sure. Sometimes I get lazy with emails and blow them off for a bit. That is almost impossible to do when you are getting bombarded with IM's.
It depends, if it's business related, then yeah e-mails because of the fact that you have time to think out your answer. But if it's friendly conversation, then instant messaging.
