I'm writing an E-mail marketing course and I still browse the Internet to find the major problems and question people have related to E-mail marketing.
Please post all your question here concerning your interest for E-mail Marketing.
The best questions will be selected and answered in my Internet course, I will announce here the course when it will be complete.

Please consider that E-mail marketing from the good point of view, do not consider SPAM as E-mail marketing!

I look forward to hear from you!

    Good luck!

Well Ablaye, if all your subscribers are opt-in confirmed there should be no reason to have your account suspended. Also you need to discuss with your web host company your server requirements. As long as you do legitim business, like I said we're not talking about SPAM, and comply with CAN-SPAM ACT requirements you will then build a strong business.
The CAN-SPAM Act: Requirements for Commercial Emailers can be found here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/canspam.shtm

If you still have dubts, please do not hesitate to contact me again in private or using this amazing forum!

    To your success!

I on occasion have clients ask about video or flash email. From what I have read and experienced it is a bad idea. Not being a very big flash user, I have tended to stay away from shockwave flash in emails.

Would be interesting to hear your take on the pros and cons on sending flash in emails for marketing campaigns.

    Hope this helps!

I want to ask that how does a webmaster send their product or service e-mails to users in general without being flagged as spam by them? Is it alright to send random e-mails to everyone on the internet as a means for advertising and marketing?

why not use this like "How To Make Sure Your Emails Are Being Read By Your Subscribers" and "How Increase Your Email Open Rate With An Attractive Subject Title Which Will Not Get Deleted"

    or

how to get through major spam filter by fine tuning your message title and body.

eskwire, flash it's not an option for email marketing, even in the future, would you like to open your inbox and notice flashy ads that redirect you to whatever pages?...
Mark07, you need to find a way to offer your clients an option to accept news from you, "the option" should be fully CAN-SPAM friendly. Contact me using PM if you need help to better communicate with your customers using legal and legitim ways, work with ethics!
    kenbiz, thanks! good tips!

    good advice above.

if a customer opts in then it cant be spam however; some
    servers dont like it.

it maybe better to invest in some software like aweber etc as
these are quite cost effective and do a good job and shouldnt
    up set your servers.

    Q. What do i need to do or offer to get the customer to opt in?

with all email marketing i tell my clients:

    keep it simple

    make it easy to understand

definately dont use flash or other stuff

write compelling content just like an article

make it clear what they need to do to order / enquire
    give freebies (always works) :)

design a sales process - its takes 7 attempts for a prospect to buy
so plan ie. newsletter, freebie, offer, newsletter with freebie, offer etc.

i hope this helps and doesnt confuse!

    regards

Here's one for you netX that you should cover - can you do a review of the major ESP's as well as in-house EM solutions that are available, then cross reference them somehow to show a major comparison of all the EM solutions available?

There is a rule to follow if you do not want your emails that you send to people flag your emails as spam.

It's called "double opt-in" and you us an auto-responder service or script to achieve this. This means that the person first places their email, name, etc into an opt-in form on your website.

They then receive an initial email from your auto-responder that asks them if they are the ones who requested information from site xyz, if so they must click the link contained in the email to verify that they are the ones that requested information.

Once that link is clicked the emails that they receive from you have been asked to be sent to them, the trick is to within the emails let them know what
else they will be getting and do not spam them with content that have no interest in or give them content and ads that they did not request.
