I think email marketing is effective to how well you use it. Try to target specific people and write to them about what they requested from you. Also ive learned that if you are promoting a product in an email dont have people buy it on the email. Make them come to your site and buy it!

Yes , it is still effective as long as you mail only to real subscribers who have really subscribed to your newsletter or your contents , if they have not subscribed its simply waste sending them emails.

I think e-mail marketing works for existing clients or prospects, reminding them of your service or a new sale or a new service/product is pretty good to generate sales. I subscribe to a number of firms that I'm interested in and whenever they send my an email of a promotion, I'll check them out, if it's something I'm really interested in I will take action too.

The list is where it's at. Click send. Make money.

An example of a great list to look at is David De-Angelo's.

I use email marketing when submitting newsletters to my clients. Every customer who uses my website has the option to opt in for email alerts and newsletters, so every month I write up a fresh looking email and send it to everyone who opted for it.

It seems to be very effective if have some incentives such as vouchers and coupons for money oof our products. The email needs to be attractive and not put people off.

    I hope this helps.

I've been using email marketing lists for quite a while with great success and no matter which of the most popular you use (I use EmailListus cause it has highly categorized email lists and huge database with restaurants' email addresses) this with this kind of marketing you'll always get the biggest return for your investment.

I don't consider it as the waste of time if we don't get the business but is a best way to promote and advertise yourself

Email marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fund-raising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to:

. sending email messages with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers, to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business,
. sending email messages with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately,
. adding advertisements to email messages sent by other companies to their customers, and
. sending email messages over the Internet, as email did and does exist outside the Internet
