Hello, I would like to know if anyone knows of such a script that can actually track if a specific e-mail has been opened or not. I am aware of a way where you can add a 1x1 pixel transparent image embedded in the email which is a good way to place something so you can track it, but the backend behind it as to where all that gets reported and such, does anyone know of a cost-free way of doing this? I know this isn't exactly effective for users who do not have html or images enabled in their email program by default, but just wanted to get a rough idea of how many viewed their e-mail and how many didn't.
there's no foolproof method, but you could try something like: www.aweber.com or, something like: phplist (not sure if it has that stuff) one thing to consider is adding different links (aweber can do that automagically), so when reader clicks link, it points to "yoursite.com/click.php?id=123"... and that redirects to the right location + makes some DB calls with some info you define.
Open rate tracking and click-through tracking are included with the TrafficWave.net AutoResponder system.
I use aWeber for this, but I guess you are looking for a script? I am not sure if this one is any good, but it seems to be rather interesting: http://www.readnotify.com/ ... and I have found a couple that might help as well: http://www.phpopentracker.de/ http://www.uresk.net/emailtracker/ - jens -
