I will be using e-mail marketing for the first time and I wonder if putting the price of what you're offering or telling them much will it cost them a good idea or not? Anyone?
Depends, is it a product or service. If it's real competitive then I want to know how much right up front but thats just me. If you are priced lower then others then yes mention that. Whats the service? If its real expensive then no.
If the purpose of the email is to draw visitors to your website so that you can sell them on buying your product/service, then the question revolves around whether your price will aid in this specific purpose. If your price is compelling, then by all means put it in at this "first impression" phase to position yoru offering and to motivate people to learn more. On the other hand, if your price needs explanations/selling, you might not want to bring it up this early in the conversation.
Your emails should always be concise, with the aim of drawing your subscribers to your actual sales page.
I agree. Focus on drawing traffic to landing page first. No price comparison on actual mail. Don't be afraid to charge higher price than your competitors.
Well it depends, A always email my clients with the latest news and updates with my business, offering special offers and what not and works, a little
Maybe you could put this a bigger price in the E-Mail and tell them that you offer a better price on your website. You know click here for 20% off this price only at "your webpage" Just a thought
Unless it is a "crazy deal" price that would make even your cheapskate relative want to buy, I wouldn't put it in the email. The key is to draw them in to your site, so listing the price in the email makes those who may be interested in finding out what the price was and would have clicked through now not feel the need to as they got the information they needed via the email.
Depends on your purpose really. If you are selling specific service which takes into consideration the prospect market position, but in the same time it's flat price for everyone in the niche, then you can throw the price. Especially if it's a good price. Some people would like you better for it, some will close your e-mail maybe, because they will take you for too straight-forward, for not enough interested in their business. The best thing it to split test really. Try out e-mails without the price mentioned, try out with e-mails with the price mentioned. Try to check how many e-mails were opened from each and how much is the response rate per opened e-mail. And they you would have pretty nice idea which is better for your business, at least for the moment. Other than that, I don't think there is a straight answer of your question. Depends on your niche, depends on the way you are doing business, depends on the tone of your e-mail, depends on the way the business owners who you e-mail understand what is acceptable and what is not. There is no straight answer, besides - split test. And make your decisions based on that. Best regards, James Rigley
You should put exciting information in the email about the product along with a great deal/coupon/discount but not the price. Once they decide that they want the product and are getting a great deal, they will go to your website and buy the product as long as it's a fair price. If you start with the price, they may decide right away that it is too expensive without finding out all the details about how awesome it is!
It depends on what you are selling, Don't think from profit point of view but think if it will help the user or not if he sees the price in email, if it do, then put it
