We've been using the -email manager for quite some time now, and it really works well...However, we have just brought on a VISP that is increadibly anal about the way e-mails to their users appear. And they are concerned to the point that they want the header information to not say anything related to our ISP, but are ok with it being something generic..(IE, they don't want a competitor's domain visible in the headers.) Now, we've already solved the issue with our mail servers, but now we determined that mail sent via Optigold, and specifically the e-mail manager, adds a line to the header that looks like: Message-ID: <1464584965.1094538756630.JavaMail.billing@ourdomain.com> Date: Mon, 6 Sep 2004 23:32:36 -0700 (PDT) Now, this looks like something that one of the "helper" apps that Optigold uses is appending. What's interesting is that it seems to get this domain information by using the reply-to information from the first e-mail sent on a per machine basis. So, if tech 1 sends an e-mail to one of our users, and then to the VISP's user, it has our "support" e-mail address appended to this line. If they sent an e-mail to the VISP's user first, it would have thier support address (or billing address), and then our users would see that. Now, I know that this doesn't effect the functionality, and I personally think its something that hardly anyone would notice, but they are a large customer of ours, and they would like this changed. Is there any way to have this header information, which looks like "Mail Client" information, set to something statically, instead of dynamicly drawing the address from the first e-mail and then retaining that until Optigold is restarted? (Or, at least that's what appears to be happening.) Thanks, Mike
You are right in that it's being set from a helper app (MondoMail specifically). I'll check with the developers of that to see if it may be possible.
Thanks....You know, even if they still drew that header info dynamically based on each e-mail, that would be fine, but it should either change dynamically with each e-mail, or be statically defined somewhere... Thanks again for looking into it. Mike
