Can anyone recommend an easy, straight forward and most of all FREE solution to building an e-mail list? Preferrably something I could just slap on a Hubpage or Squidoo Lens? Thanks, guys.

The best would be Blogger, because you can change the template as you like there and create a proper landing page.

    He's talking about an autoresponder.

And no, YOU'RE NOT GONNA FIND SOMETHING FREE!!!

If you want to get serious with list building, and by all means you SHOULD be because it's one of those foundational things... If you want to be serious with this, you want serious tools.

You don't want to be the archeologist with a plastic toy shovel.

First of all, AWeber isn't THAT expensive. I think you can afford 20 bucks a month. I know the price goes up when you get 500 subs, but WITH 500 subs you can make more than that, so you won't lose money.

Invest in AWeber, or I guess GetResponse works too.

Scrap the idea of trying to get it free. What would you do if you had 5k subscribers on your crappy free one, with poor deliverability and probably ads inserted in the mails... what would you do with those 5k then when you want to upgrade?

It's hell trying to import subscribers into AWeber.

Get some real stuff, not toys.

Lem...how much does it go up when you hit 500 subscribers? I can pretty much guarantee that you will make your money back and then some using Aweber.

I'm not sure, I got in before they raised the price, but IMO it's not relevant if you're smart. As long as you build a targeted and focused list you can make that back several times on a list of 500.

There was this lady in the DRESSAGE (horse training) niche that did a product launch with Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula... she made $140,000 from a list of 700.

    enough said.

Damn.. 140,000$ , I gotta be doing something wrong, I generate about 40 leads daily total for my 2 lists (highly targeted leads), I have around 450 leads so far, I barely get a sale from the lists. I must be doing something horribly wrong.

Well first of all that was a product launch... but you can't get a sale from close to 500 subs? Ouch.

You have to establish a relationship with your subscribers and make them trust you... to even get them to open your email and pick you over the other 3 gazillion emails in their inbox. Trust is everything man.

    Also, check this out: http://www.autorespondercopymadeeasy.com.

It's a free course from one of the top email copywriters in the world.

I just got some follow up messages from the affiliate product I was promoting, there were like 5 follow up messages, they were not very personal, and were semi-agressively promoting the affiliate product.

2 days ago, I have made my own new content, which is on a very personal basis with the subscriber, Already I'm having few leads email me, thanking me for the useful info. So I guess the new content works out better, I just need to wait and see, how things go, It's been only 2 days with the new content.

Anyway, thanks for the link, however the site doesn't accept any more subscribers, any other useful site maybe?

I use GetResponse - I'm happy with it so far. It's much cheaper than AWeber. But no, it's not free. It's costing me $140/year.

I just got Getresponse..... Aweber is ridiculous to raise their prices....

It will haunt them. Getresponse is great! and 10k subscribes for about $18/month

it's just as easy as aweber.

I use Aweber, it's definitely the market leader and I'm happy with it.
