A tougher verification system for egold is good news. These changes will make it harder for scammers and HYIPS to operate.

Not actually if they are better enforcers of rules and regulations more users would be more confident and start using them. The problem was they had a bad image previously because of loose control.

Do you people even read? It´s been said 2 times now in this thread that the title of the thread is absolute BS. E-gold isn´t closed and won´t be closed.

    http://blog.e-gold.com/2008/07/a-new-beginning.html

Here you can read what will be from now with e-gold and this will lower the exchange fees etc. for sure in the future again to normal fees and not exorbitant like nowadays

There are not closed but you can't outexchange your gold any longer, unless you're willing to pay 75% fee. Not dead, but as good as dead IMHO.

All that is going to happen to E-gold is that they are now going to comply with the US jurisdiction and then find themselves able to break into more markets. This could be a boon for Egold and they could see a huge increase in acceptance.

I find e-gold to be so difficult and not worth the hassle.. shame about some honest people who might get caught out but if I had funds in e-gold I would be making withdraws fast.. as when this kind of info leaks it gets v difficult to do business.

They stopped registering new accounts.and they are really getting some problems this time.Even if they won't close they will reset out with a new way.you will never use it as easliy as before. They may put some process steps to confirm the user's identity. You can't use multiple accounts as many as you want anymore. However, this is not a good news.

Thanks for the article, the thread title is really shocking..
Well, at least with the provided article, it clears the issues about E-gold.
I think they deserve a second chance.. Everybody does, It just depends on the people if they'll still support their services.. :)

Why is that people tend to wish bad things for E-gold?For so many months now you see guys on the web just spreading the word: E-gold is closed! I did use it some days ago, I did just agree to the new user code and it worked!

Where the bad news here? It couldn´t have been worse for e-gold then the last 8 months. Since Omnipay didn´t operate anymore it went down and down for e-gold because the exchangers couldn´t sell their e-gold anymore and so noone did outexchanges. But from what is written in the news they will start again in november and then it will be better again for sure. Omnipay will start work again then and everything will be fine.

And nothing has been written about multiple accounts are not allowed: it´s just said, if there is anything with your account and it will be frozen (or let´s say "limited") you won´t be allowed to register a new one. But if you use differerent accounts legit there is no problem

It´s BS! The e-gold rate didn´t fall down anything. It raised because the gold value raised and so did e-gold. If you have someone who exchanges your e-gold 1:1 because he needs some then you don´t have any loss. Also if you know the whole story from why the exchangers want BIG fees to inexchange (so you outexchange) the e-gold and now read the news then you will know everything will be back to normal before the US government investigated and Omnipay stopped working

most of the exchangers from other sites is not accepting e-gold anymore which affects a lot of people, i stop using e-gold and go to paypal and liberty reserve as alternative payment processor.
