There are several good e-commerce softwares out there, but it really depends on your business model and the specific features you are looking for. It also depends on your budget, there are both free and paid types of software.

A lot of this depends on your level of experience and whether or not you have HTML, PHP or CSS programming skills. If you don't, none of the previously mentioned options are going to be ideal. For folks who want something simple and fully customizable, Zulu Cart is the best shopping cart that I know of. It is simple point and click, drag and drop software and EVERYTHING can be modified right in the Admin panel of the website; you don't have to go into the guts of your website's cPanel to modify a thing. If you can use Microsoft Word, you can use Zulu Cart.

I do not work for Zulu but I do have all six of my e commerce websites on their platform. Although I know enough PHP, CSS and HTML to get the job done, why would I want to go through the hassle when I can just do it all by pointing and clicking? I have orders to pack, articles to write and SEO to do [along with the occasional helpful forum post ;)]. Why mess around with the other stuff that just wastes my time and doesn't make me a dime?
