Hello, I have a friend who have an ebook wich had been published by someone on his website and can so be read by anyone without paying. I'd like to ask for your advice ! Thank you in advance.
From what I understand, your friend authored an e-book, and now somebody else is selling the e-book on their own site without the permission of your friend? To the extent that's what's going on, your friend should (at a minimum) try and contact this other individual and let this other individual know that his/her activities have been noticed and that they should stop immediately. This is not likely to work -- but is still worth trying. Sometimes, if a thief knows they have been "spotted", they may opt to stop and move on to other targets who don't know what's going on, etc. Your friend may want to ultimately bring the matter to the attention of the hosting company that this other individual is using. There is a chance that the hosting company will, without the need for a court order, suspend the offending website assuming your friend can present the hosting company with a fair amount of evidence pointing to your friend as being in the "right" and this other individual as being in the "wrong". Others will no doubt chime in with some additional insights. Good luck with this, and I hope your friend can get the matter resolved sooner than later!
Thank you for your answer NathanFalkner. I'd like to know if there is any legal action possibility ! Thank you
