After many research and experience gained in web marketing and website building I decided to put all these to good use and I wrote a small ebook. I say small because it only has 24 pages (text pages with no images). The ebook has 8 chapters: - Website idea and targeted visitors - Website design and coding - Domain name and hosting - Website content - Website SEO - Staying in touch with your visitors - Promoting your website - Earning from your website It is mainly for new-comers (newbies) and teaches the basic of website building (not HTML or PHP but how to make your site and market it) and website promoting. The ebook is almost ready but I still have a question. For how much should I sell a copy? I have seen many selling similar books for 29$ or even more. It is to much IMHO. At first I decided to sell it for 19.99, but not I am thinking that because it is addressed to new users that have very little money I should sell it for 9.99$ What do you think the price should be?
Test, test and test some more. You need to find the sweet spot, so you're not leaving money on the table. For instance, I had an ebook that I thought should be $14.95. Sales were coming in at a nice clip, so I decided to try $19.95. They kept coming, so I went to $24.95. They kept coming, so I went to $29.95. Sales kept coming, but they went down a little, so I stopped here. In the end, sales were down only 20% from the $14.95 level while the price was now doubled. If I had not tested, I'd be leaving serious money on the table. And if you have no backend sales going on, the last thing you want to do is market on price, because more sales (verses more book profit) doesn't mean anything. If you are up-selling or at least building a list for future stuff, then flooding them through the turnstiles by marketing on price can be a good strategy.
OK! Thanks for everyone. I will start with 14.99$/copy and see how it goes. after that maybe I will raise the price or maybe I will lower it. Thanks again to everyone. Hope I will have it ready by Monday.
Unless I saw the ebook or read some highly informative sales copy on it, I wouldn't pay a dime for it obviously. But if there's some good information in there for newbies i'm guessing $9.99 would be an ok price.
