Hello, I'm thinking about writing an e-book and have a few questions as I haven't had much experience writing e-books. It's about hiring and selling writing services (sort of a how-to, code of conduct, what you should and shouldn't do etc.). First of all... Should I make 1 e-book or two? i.e. Should I make one for hiring writers and another one for people looking to sell writing services or combine the both into one e-book? How do I know how much to charge? How would I go about the distribution or marketing of the e-book? I'd really appreciate answers to these questions and it'd be great if you could add me on MSN to help me out. Thanks!
Make two ebooks... Wanting the services and offering the services are two totally different things...and should not be in the same ebook... How much to charge?...pull a price out of your ass...it's your ebook, no one can tell you how much to charge...it's 100% completely up to you. Distribution?...offer a few free copies here and other similar sites, make a website, or start an affiliate program (tell people they get x% of price for every sale they make for you). There are also websites out there that let people list their ebooks for sale. Ebay, etc...tons of ways to get your ebook out there.
Thanks for the reply. As for the price - is there a generally accepted way of determining the price? Perhaps based on the hours I've put in or something?
nope...nothing like that for the price...price should be based on the material itself... i've seen ebooks go for $25 and sell like got cakes, I've seen some go for $100 and not sell at all...and i've seen some at $3 that didn't sell either...
I'd make two seperate e-books and charge $27 each. Just make sure you have quality content and don't make them too short (or too long for that matter). Around 30-40 pages is a good length.
Hi bigbluesky, Just curious - why $27? It will be around 10-12 pages. I could make it longer but I don't want to waffle on - what I've got right now is clear, informative and to the point/
Ebooks are extremely easy things to market, as there are plenty of people who want to read them. Just do what the others have said.
