What is the better ,static webpage names or dynamic webpage name. Many times my observation says that static names are better that dynamic names.I can argue by saying this
its more attractive to see the url with page name to click ,so it increases the click through rate
also assure the visitor that what about the page is

    more ok
first you then i will reply

    Dear yasiralhayan,

You are right static web pages can crawled easily by the search engines. but dynamic pages are not so search engine friendly as the static web pages are. Although earlier it was quit difficult to crawl the dynamic web pages by the search engines but now days search engines are crawling dynamic web pages easily. but in spite of this static web pages are much better in the eyes of search engines.

I agree with seodilip. Dynamic pages are search engine friendly as well if you create the links properly.

yasiralhayan, descriptive static pagenames are usually preferable from an SEO standpoint. In addition to spidering issues, the page's URL (including the filename) is one of the factors used in ranking! Have you ever noticed that when you do a search in Google, if the page's filename (or other parts of the URL) include some of the keywords that were searched for, that Google displays those emphasized?

In situations where dynamic pages may be more practical (such as a large online database), modern search engines can now spider those better than they used to, but it is still preferable to use as few parameters in the URL as possible, if you want to get more of your pages listed.

With regards to dynamic database sites and SEO, one big "gotcha" to watch out for is Google's "similar page" filter, which can rely heavily on the top section of the page. I have seen online shopping sites have massive # of products completely eliminated from competitive SERPs, just because Google thought the top of the dynamically-generated product pages looked too similar!

In SEO, dynamic web page name are "death". Dynamic means change and any change to a URL means the SEs will start the indexing process all over. But every page in the down line is also affected.

But for Google, a change in a URL means No Page Rank for the page, the down line and alters the Domain's PR.

ModRewrite, CMS Nameing, Category/SubCategory/Product, etc. that change the strings of the urls harm the website' SEO.

Real world benchmark: A great web site, http://www.1000bulbs.com sells light bulbs. All types, so a SEO firm went in and SEOed the site. Major ranking and a solid PR5.

New SEO firm went in and changed the "category" pages to SEO keywords. All SERPs vanished. Site dropped to PR3.

Company reverted back to the old configuration but the SERP placements did not come back. Six months later, the PR came back to PR 5 but the SERPs never did.

As a programmer, you may think you have a great concept, but you could really destroy the company with you great concept. If a page has been indexed, don't change it's name. Ever!!!

Dynamic webpages are easier to maintain. If you use dynamic webpages and don’t use any url mapping then i can suggest you one thing to be good for search engine to set different title, meta keywords, meta description. Those should also dynamically changed for defferent query string urls of the same page.
