If I generate pages dynamically, then it's possible that a particular page URL has never been generated with the Adsense code on it. Thus it would seem that the first time a visitor gets there, the Adsense content checker may never have been there, and it will generate the wrong ads or PSAs. I have too many pages to manually visit each one. Is there some way of writing a robot that will visit all my pages and force Adsense to also visit them?
You could but you'd be risking your account for generating false impressions. If you include appropriate keywords in the URL there is a good chance of initial view adverts still being relevant.
I have found that this isn't a problem most of the time. The adsense bot will generally show ads based on the rest of the site... dct is right...I think the page url is the first clue it uses before anything else, or if it can't find anything else.
The first time a page is loaded it will show ads related to the topic of your site as a whole, so the ads should not be that off topic. Then when the adsense bot finally gets your page it will show ads specifically to that page. Another thing that I have noticed is that adsense will show ads related to the keywords in your url. So, if your url is something like http://www.mysite.com/articles.php?title=cozumel+diving it will show ads related to "cozumel diving" from the first time.
That has *got* to be bollocks... No way could they ban you for "False Impressions"... Well, maybe they could but it would be pretty damn stupid IMO.
Read the TOS, I've not heard of it happening to anybody yet but with the new CPM ads you can see why it's there. Thinking about it I do know of one person that is having problems in this area.
If it is a dynamic site when a new page is generated the adsense bot comes along and spiders and I assume caches it. It may take a few refreshes until the relevency is sorted out but there is no problem with dynamic pages. What about all the CMS systems out there. My site is almost completely dynamic and I know for sure it is not breaking the TOS. edit: cancel that I didn't read the original thread properly. sorry
I'd assume testing a page is OK but having a robot test it is not...still, how many "first impressions" can there be relative to the total, and how much does it matter when CPMs are in the single digits? Unless you're doing one of those evil "show up on all search terms via reflection" sites but I doubt you'd do that.
how do they know if an impression is fake or real? unless u get extremely lots of hits in one day... and your website topic is lousy
I used to update a musician site and as I updated it, I'd view my update and on the first viewing of a page, Adsense would show related ads. The page would have a URL of www.******musician.com/article.php?id=133 and the topic might be Elbonian Bongos and the ads were Elbonian Bongo related, even though no other mention of Elbonian Bongos occured in the site. If you have any traffic, this should not be a problem.
